Sherwin-Williams ready to light up the skyline: The 10 tallest buildings in Cleveland

Photos courtesy City of Cleveland and buildings depicted
The letters are in place and are ready to glow. The newest addition to the Cleveland skyline has arrived – at least externally.
Sherwin-Williams, which will start moving into its Global Headquarters in the last quarter of the year, has announced that it will illuminate its signs on Monday.
They sit on the east and west sides of the 36-floor skyscraper – 106 feet across, with letters ranging from 7 to 11 feet tall. The 616-foot HQ is the biggest addition to the skyline in decades and will be the fourth-tallest building downtown.
Cleveland has welcomed its skyscrapers with pride, going back to 1927, when the Terminal Tower was completed.
Here are the tallest five in Cleveland:
Key Tower: At 947 feet and 57 floors, it’s the 165th-tallest building in the world, the 40th tallest in the U.S. and the tallest between Philadelphia and Chicago.
Terminal Tower: The heart of Cleveland for almost a century, it’s 708 feet tall with 52 floors – the 102nd tallest building in the country. It was the 4th tallest building in the world and the tallest outside of Manhattan when it was completed.
200 Public Square: The 658-foot, 45-floor building is the 4th-tallest in Ohio and the tallest constructed in the city in the 1980s. It was built in 1985 as the Sohio Building and was known as the BP Building until 1998. It’s currently the regional headquarters of Cleveland Cliffs and Huntington National Bank.
Sherwin Williams Headquarters: It’s the 6th tallest building in Ohio and the tallest constructed in the city in the 2020s.
Tower at Erieview: The 529-foot, 40-floor building is the 10th-tallest in Ohio and the tallest built in Cleveland in the 1960s. It houses the Galleria. Both are slated for renovation.
Others: One Cleveland Center (450 feet,1983); Fifth Third Center (446 feet, 1992); Carl B. Stokes Federal Court House Building (430 feet, 2002); Justice Center Complex (420 feet, 1977); Anthony J. Calabrezze Federal Building (419 feet, 1967).

Diving dogs, Frisbee pups, Dachshund Olympians: Bring on the animals

Photos courtesy Cleveland Pet Expo
There’s no love more pure than the one we share with animals. They bring joy and the bond with them is instrumental in reducing stress and bringing joy. (Remember Covid?)
The Cleveland Pet Expo will celebrate that bond when it pulls up to I-X Center at noon today.
The three-day pet extravaganza is expected to attract 20,000 pet lovers and will roll out live entertainment and all sorts of pet stunts
There’s the North American Diving Dogs -- diving competition in which they leap into a pool and splash around and swim. A Frisbee party features trained doggies prancing around and competing in an obstacle course. The Wiener Dog Olympics rolls out racing and running dachshunds.
The pet expo also features more than 100 dealers hawking grooming goods, toys and treats, dog-training and pet care sessions and a chance to adopt animals.
Animal shelters in Northeast Ohio are at max capacity and many have dropped adoption fees to alleviate the crowding and provide homes for animals. For more info and tickets, go here.
Edwins’ chef brings home a Beard

It’s been quite a winning streak for Cleveland chef Brandon Chrostowski.
In December, he opened Friar’s Table in Playhouse Square. Then he re-opened his flagship eatery, Edwins, in the old Nighttown spot.
Now, he’s the winner of the 2025 James Beard Foundation Impact Award for “actively reshaping the food system for the better—championing sustainability, equity, and economic opportunity.”
“This award is a recognition not only of the work we do at EDWINS but also of the power of belief -- that everyone, no matter their past, deserves dignity, opportunity, and a seat at the table,” Chrostowski said in the release.
As we reported, Cleveland also placed four semi-finalist chefs in the James Beard Foundation 2025 Restaurant and Chef Awards.
Unfortunately, none of them – Douglas Katz (Zhug, Amba, Kiln), Alexandra La Valle (Larder), Vinnie Cimino (Cordelia) and Jeremy Umansky (Larder) made the finalist list.
The Cleveland food scene hasn’t had a winner in best chef/restaurant category since 2015.

No more cheese: Make way for mustard, It’s Friday. You know what that means…
Cheese mongers had high hopes when Old Brooklyn Cheese Company opened eight years. Unfortunately, the sales weren’t there – so the shop will close April 19.
Instead, owner Michael Januska will focus on POP Mustards, his line of popular condiments that led to a collaboration with celebrity chef Michael Symon.
The artisanal fermented whole-seed mustards – dubbed “The Caviar of Mustards” – use IPA beer, pickled jalapenos and lime to create citrus-floral flavors with a hint of hops.
The line is coming to Meijer stores this month and are already available in Giant Eagle, Heinen’s and Acme.
